LADY Bathurst was delighted to present Gloucestershire Fire Chief Stewart Edgar with the High Sheriff Award for great leadership and valuable service to the community.

The Countess, who lives in Cirencester Park, completed her term as High Sheriff of Gloucestershire in April and has since maintained a close relationship with the county’s fire crews.

Most recently, she caught up with staff at Quedgeley fire station who were holding a charity car wash to raise money for the survivors of the Grenfell Tower disaster.

A photo of her with staff after they had washed her Rolls Royce, nicknamed The Duchess, was posted to Twitter earlier this week.

“It was such a pleasure and I’m very grateful to our current High Sheriff for allowing me to present it to you after my year of office end,” she wrote on Twitter on Wednesday.

Mr Edgar said: “Thank you @CotswoldLadyB for this award on behalf of all the great staff @Glosfire.”
