A PEDESTRIAN was knocked to the ground during a two vehicle collision on Lechlade High Street.

Crews from Faringdon and Fairford Fire Stations worked with Gloucestershire Police and South West Ambulance Service to assist three casualties following the incident on Monday morning.

One of the vehicles, a black Hyundai i10, appeared to have come off the road and into a wall opposite The New Inn Hotel.

Specially trained firefighters removed a public bench to allow for the driver of the Hyundai to be removed from the car, before providing initial treatment to all three casualties.

A spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service said they received a call at 9.37am to reports of a Road Traffic Collision.

Crews attended in two ambulances and two people were subsequently taken to Great Western Hospital for treatment, he said.

No-one suffered major injuries in the incident.

A police spokeswoman said: "We were called at 9.40am on June 19 to Market Square, Lechlade, to reports that a car had gone into a wall."

She said the three people involved in the collision suffered "minor injuries".

Police are not treating the incident as suspicious.
