TRAIN travellers are being warned of significant disruption to travel next month as plans for further electrification of the Great Western mainline will disrupt services passing through Swindon station.

The plans announced by Network Rail will mean the track between Swindon and Chippenham will be closed for nine days, affecting services to and from London Paddington and Bristol Temple Meads.

The closure will impact services from Friday, July 8 to Monday, July 17 meaning only two trains per hour will run between Bristol and London with bus replacement service in operation.
