ON VE Day in 2005, despite terrible weather, large crowds gathered at Kemble Airport to celebrate 60 years of peace in Europe.
“The service went impeccably well. It was absolutely fantastic,” events Co-ordinator Glen Moreman said.
Entertainment included the Glenn Miller Orchestra and an evacuation demonstration by children from Ingleside School in period costume.
Many attendees got into the spirit of the occasion, dressing up in line with the airfield’s history - from 1940s dresses to full military uniform.
