CIRENCESTER Town FC youth, along with the McDonald's crew, took part in a campaign to clean up the local area.

14 members of Cirencester Town FC's under 14s team and staff at the Kingsmeadow restaurant cleaned up Melmore Avenue and Kingshill Country Park (opposite the restaurant) as part of Keep Britain Tidy's anti-littering campaign.

The volunteers collected eight bags of litter throughout the day.

This event is just one of a number of McDonald’s clean-ups taking place across the UK as part of Keep Britain Tidy's ‘Love Where You Live’ campaign, which encourages communities to work together to tackle litter in their area.

Nick Dyer, Cirencester Town FC U14s coach, said: “We were really pleased to join forces with the staff from McDonald’s to help keep the local area tidy.

"The team had a great day and we look forward to working with McDonald’s again in the future.

"We have worked very closely with our local restaurant and with the franchisee over the years and are always grateful for their sponsorship and continued support with our team.”

Franchisee Carl Room, who owns and operates the restaurant in Cirencester, said: “I was really proud to see everyone come together and help tidy up the local area, and it was great to work in conjunction with Cirencester Town FC.

"It’s a key priority of ours to ensure that the local area remains free of litter and an enjoyable place to live, work and visit. As a business, we understand the important role that we play in making the area a better place.”
