OPERA Brava, the UK’s leading professional national outdoor touring opera company, will return to the Cotswolds once again for its 10th unbroken year this summer with the company presenting Puccini’s La Bohème on Friday, July 7 and Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro on Saturday, July 8.

Established by former English National Opera singers, Opera Brava has won acclaim and given pleasure to countless opera fans.

Performed under a fully covered stage, Opera Brava presents a packed programme of classic productions at beautiful locations across the country every year.

The setting for this year’s weekend of opera performances in the Cotswolds is Rodmarton Manor, situated between Cirencester and Tetbury, with the stunning backdrop of The Arts and Crafts manor house.

Owners John and Sarah Biddulph are kindly opening their idyllic private grounds for opera and picnics under the stars in early July.

Puccini’s La Boheme is set in Paris in the 1830s among a group of impoverished Bohemians.

The opera centres around the tragic love affair between the seamstress, Mimi, and Rodolfo, a poet. Frivolity, joy, tenderness and sorrow are all expressed in the wonderful music of this most treasured of operas. La Bohème is a masterpiece and is undoubtedly Puccini’s finest score.

This production and cast are sensational and bring out the real heart of Puccini’s magnificent score.

Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro is probably the most perfect and popular opera. This is a joyful farce in which we witness the foibles and intrigues used to reveal the indiscretions of a philandering nobleman, Count Almaviva.

Some of Mozart’s most sublime music features in this bittersweet yet uplifting comedy.

Opera Brava’s new production boasts an international cast and is set in the 18th century.

Alongside its existing partners, Opera Brava has joined forces with Aura Care Living who are based in Cirencester.

Opera Brava will be performing at Rodmarton Manor in English with a small chamber ensemble.
