Cirencester Golf Club
Bagendon Cup

THE Bagendon Cup, played for at Cirencester Golf Club on the same date (May 5) each year, has been won by Philip Woodall with a cracking stableford total of 40 points.

Phil finished three points clear of a quartet on 37 points – Kieran Dixon, Terry Hambling, Tony Crowther and John Parsons – who finished in that order on countback.

Sixth place was taken by Jeffrey Salter a point behind.

Congratulations to Heather Morley who was the only player in the 100-strong field who scored a birdie two. Hers came at the 13th.

May Medal

TWO days later Robert Preddy rose to the top of the leaderboard to win the May Monthly Medal with a net 68.

He pipped fellow Division Two handicapper Wayne Collingwood (68) to the top prize on countback.

Conditions were unusually calm for Cirencester but the fast-running course made low scoring difficult.

Jeremy Homan-Green had the best gross score with a four-over-par 74.

Birdie twos were scored by Clive Gray (2nd); Alan Selby (2nd); Pete Stone (2nd); Danny Hall (13th); Howard Todd (13th); Nick Vincent (13th).
