CRICKLADE’S Neighbourhood Plan has taken another step forward with the town council voting to approve its submission to Wiltshire Council.
The motion was carried unanimously at a town council meeting held on April 24.
Once submitted, Wiltshire Council will carry out a further period of consultation, which is expected to last six weeks and whereby anyone can respond.
An independent examiner will then be appointed who will review the documents and advise on amendments before a referendum takes place.
At the meeting on Monday, chairman Mark Clarke said it is feasible a referendum could happen by the end of the year, depending on the workflow of Wiltshire Council.
