Stroud & District Junior Plate semi-final
Cirencester II 7
Dursley II 32
CIRENCESTER seconds man of the match Manasa Cakau showed huge promise for the future in his side's 32-7 defeat by Dursley IIs in the Stroud & District Junior Plate semi-final.
Ciren half-backs Tom Edwards and Cameron Waldron controlled the flow of the game well with Waldron scoring the first try, converted by Cakau, who asked questions of Dursley all afternoon with some huge tackles and powerful ball carrying.
However, some loose play let Dursley back into the game before half-time via a penalty and two tries.
Waldron’s game was cut short by a knock to the head just before the interval, resulting in some reorganisation with Cater and then Cakau playing at fly half.
Ollie Smith also fell victim to a head injury and these changes caused a loss of shape and concentration which Dursley capitalised on, eventually running out 32-7 winners.
