A STUDENT from the Cotswolds will be holding a jumble sale this weekend to help raise money for an upcoming school expedition to south-east Asia.

Theo Hayward, who is a pupil at the Cotswold School in Bourton-on-the-Water, will be travelling through Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos next summer.

During the four week trip he and more than 40 of his year 11 and year 12 classmates will volunteer at a Vietnamese school where they will help build new classrooms and teach English to local children.

Theo said: “I think working with the children will be really great.

“I can’t wait to go travelling because the countries look so cool.

“We will be staying in little communities, at one part we’ll be half way up a mountain doing a trek.

“The local people will cook food for us, I don’t have a clue what it will be but I’d like to try a bit of new food."

Theo will also get the chance to visit the magnificent Angkor Wat temple complex in Cambodia and said he is really excited to go so far away from home.

He will be holding a jumble sale at Cold Aston village hall near Bourton on Saturday, April 29 from 10am-12pm.

It will include clothes, books, toys, bric-a-brac and much more.

There will also be tea, coffee and cakes available and all of the money raised will go towards his expedition.

If you have anything to donate to the sale, contact Theo on 01451 850029 and he’ll happily come and collect it.
