ONE lucky Cirencester trader won a huge chocolate Easter bunny in a raffle to raise money for the Churn Project.

Sweet shop The Candy Man, on Black Jack Street, raffled off the giant chocolate treat and raised more than £250 for the Cirencester charity.

NicestJobs.com co-founder Luke Cameron was then asked to pick the winning ticket on Maundy Thursday (April 13), before presenting the prize to a flabbergasted Octavia Karavla, owner of Octavia's Bookshop.

Speaking in a video posted to Facebook, Luke said: "We're at the Candy Man in Cirencester, and they've done a raffle for the Churn Project, which is a local charity that helps so many people in need.

"We've worked with them on the Nicest Job in Britain," he added before picking the winning raffle ticket.

"The winner of the big massive Easter chocolate bunny - which God knows how much chocolate that is - is number 145 and it's Octavia!"

In the video, Luke is then presented with the cash from the raffle by Candy Man co-owner Julie Townsend.

She explains that some extra money has been added from her customers thanks to a recycling scheme, as well as "donations from a very kind gentleman".

"The rabbit was donated by a very kind friend as well," said Julie, adding that there is £213 in the cash envelope from the raffle and £56 from the recycling.

Luke is then seen surprising Octavia with her prize before heading over to the Churn Project headquarters in The Waterloo to meet chief executive Fran Embleton-Smith.

Fran had no idea about the raffle, but was delighted to receive the money from Luke.
