Westonbirt School hosted a thought-provoking ‘Women in Leadership’ lecture on Friday, 17 March.

The free event was attended by a large outside audience and sixth form and Year 11 pupils.

Designed to inspire future female trailblazers, a panel of women in leadership joined Headmistress Natasha Dangerfield for a frank and insightful discussion regarding their route to success and the many bumps and pit holes along the way.

The inspirational speakers included:

  • a twenty-six year-old humanitarian and stabilisation consultant who manages global multi million pound projects providing swift humanitarian assistance when disasters strike
  • a physics graduate and science publisher who founded the highly successful ‘Whizz Pop Bang’ children’s science magazine
  • a company director and embryo transfer vet who operates her own ambulatory clinical vet practice
  • and a highly experienced writer and magazine editor.

Head of careers information and advice, Ann Dunn, said of the evening: “Stimulating discussions and good advice for our students and audience to take away.

"The panel were unique and inspirational females who reminded us to follow our dreams, be ourselves and support, not judge each other.”
