A BIGGER and better Cirencester Youth Market will be returning to Market Place tomorrow.

The market, which runs from 10.30am to 2.30pm tomorrow, is organised by the E4 group (Cirencester College, the Royal Agricultural University, Kingshill School and Deer Park School) in partnership with Cirencester Town Council.

The first youth market held last year involved students from Cirencester College and the Royal Agricultural University.

This year, E4 are aiming to make the youth market an annual event, possibly a biannual event with a special market at Christmas.

The aim of the market is to inspire young people to set up their own business as it gives students the opportunity to sell products that they have made and designed.

Some of the businesses will be asking customers for feedback on their products to aid development.

Tomorrow's market will showcase some of the Royal Agricultural University’s young enterprises including The Trough Catering, deliciously cooked local produce served out of a converted horsetrailer, Coppernose Jerky and Claytons Cold Brewed Coffee.

The market will also feature enterprise students from Cirencester College who are working on innovations including a safe driving app for new drivers and up-cycled homewares made from old wooden pallets.

It is anticipated that Deer Park’s Steel Band and Kingshill’s Choir and Ukele Players will be providing entertainment on the day.

Gabby Martin-Hoff of Sew Little, the winner of last year’s Youth Market, will be making a return. She won the judges over with her beautifully handmade baby and toddler clothes.

Hannah Ash, innovation and enterprise manager at Cirencester College, said: “Being out in the real world, selling their products, developing their employability skills and getting feedback from the local community is invaluable to students and pupils in their development as the next generation of entrepreneurs.

"We have a varied offering of businesses this year and we welcome the support of local people to make the event a success. Special thanks go to the town council without whom this would not be possible.”

The event is supported by St James' Place and will feature a special award for the best dressed stall.
