A CATERING company based in Tetbury has scooped a number of prestigious awards at the annual British Pie Awards on Friday (March 10).

Brothers Ben and Paul Sibbald, of From Ben’s Kitchen, won the Small Producer Award and were champions for the chicken category with their chicken, leek and parmesan pie.

He was also highly commended for his beef bourguignon pie.

From Ben's Kitchen is a catering cookery school which opened in January and which offers catering services for weddings and private events.

Ben, who is a stall holder at Cirencester’s Friday market, picked up four silver and three bronze medals for other pies entered at the awards ceremony, held in Melton Mowbray:

  • The smoke haddock and parmesan pie for the fish category,
  • The lamb pagine with almonds, apricots and preserved lemons pie for the lamb category,
  • The steak and kidney,
  • The goats cheese with butternut squash, rosemary and pine nuts pie for the vegetarian category,
  • The chicken and chorizo pie for the chicken and other meat category,
  • And the venison and beetroot pie for the game category.

Paul Sibbald was proud to receive the awards on behalf of his brother Ben.

Commenting on the success, Ben, who also owns the cafe and deli Made by Ben in Bath, said: "We’re absolutely thrilled. We are going to use this to our full advantage."
