AN award-winning online business which aims to improve community spirit, is coming to Gloucestershire.

Helpfulpeeps, founded in Bristol last year by Simon Hills, 28, and Saf Nazeer, 33, already has an online community of 25,000 members who share their skills and knowledge to help each other for free.

With the community open to everyone across the UK, the pair are hosting a Meet-Up style event in Gloucestershire this month to help spread the word.

"The website tells you who needs help with what and where, and puts you in touch directly,” said Saf.

“Whether it’s cat sitting or learning a new language, moving a sofa or lending a hand at a charity event, simply post your request and ask for help.

“Members can then respond by commenting or via private message to work out the details between you.

“It’s a fantastic way to get involved in your community, restore your faith in humanity and make new lifelong friends,” he added.

The business won Startup Launchpad at Apps World in London, as well as Pitch@Palace on Tour in Cardiff in February.

What's more, the pair have won a further half a dozen smaller awards since launching.

Run through the Social Good Network platform, Helpfulpeeps has a simple ethos: ‘ask for help when you want and help others when you can’.

There is no date or exact location set yet for the Gloucestershire meet up event, but by signing up to Helpfulpeeps.com you will get an invite and further details in the near future.
