FORMER Cheltenham Town youth team captain Lewis Thompson has signed for Cirencester Town and came off the bench for the final 10 minutes of the game against Dunstable on Saturday when the Centurions grabbed a vital equaliser in stoppage time.
While with the Robins, Thompson had two successful loan spells with Cinderford Town and joined Swindon Supermarine in the summer of 2016. He has played just nine times for Dave Webb’s side mostly from the bench.
Thompson, a left-sided attacking player, increases manager Charlie Griffin’s options up front, following the departures of Tony Lee and Kalum Youngsam.
Meanwhile, full back Scott Bevan has travelled in the reverse direction, to Supermarine from Cirencester.
Bevan started the season as a regular first-teamer for Cirencester but last played in September after which he was struck down by tonsillitis.
