DOOR mat manufacturer The Turtle Mat Company Ltd, based in Kemble, has been acquired by international rivals Kleen-Tex Holdings (UK) Ltd, the UK subsidiary of Kleen-Tex in Europa GmbH.
“With Turtle Mats, we are gaining a strong retail brand for our company portfolio, especially in the UK market,” said Jürgen Teubenbacher, managing director of Kleen-Tex, after Monday’s announcement.
“For both companies, there are very positive synergies – on sales, marketing, and distribution.”
A thriving e-commerce and mail-order business, with over 300 trade customers, including John Lewis, Lakeland and Countrywide, Turtle Mat was seen as an excellent choice to grow Kleen-Tex’s position within the UK.
“We are very happy to join the Kleen-Tex organization,” said Susan Leaver, director and general manager of Turtle Mat.
“Kleen-Tex has a wealth of product expertise and market knowledge, which puts us in a strong, competitive position.
“As part of Kleen-Tex we will continue to proudly support the local Gloucestershire economy and hope that our ambitious plans for growth will support that further, with the creation of new jobs in the area,” she added.
