  • WE GOT Rhythm is a musical celebration on Tuesday, February 21 in St Mary’s Church, Fairford, featuring Fairford choir, A Splash of Red and the Southampton Youth Concert Sinfonia and singers from Cirencester’s MJ-UK Music and Arts. The concert will include music from Wicked, Star Wars, Sister Act and The Phantom of the Opera as well as many others. The Southampton Sinfonietta is a youth orchestra with talented musicians ranging from 9-18 years of age.

  • HILARY Cottage surgery sent out the Flu Clinic information last autumn. However, an increasing number of patients are contacting the surgery suffering from flu. A flu jab can help to prevent flu.   • THE Lechlade British Heart Foundation fundraisers are hosting a Quiz and Supper on Saturday, March 4 from 7pm for 7.30pm in the Pavilion. Tickets are £15 (to include fish and chips and a pudding) from committee members or 01367 253319/253762.
  • LECHLADE Community Cinema will open its doors at the Pavilion on Sunday, February 19 from 7.30pm for Sully (cert 12A), starring Tom Hanks. This is the real life story of airline pilot Captain Chesley Sullenberger, nicknamed “Sully”. In 2009, the world witnessed Sully glide his disabled plane onto the frigid waters of the Hudson River, saving the lives of all 155 aboard. However, even as Sully was being heralded by the public and the media for his unprecedented feat of aviation skill, an investigation was unfolding that threatened to destroy his reputation and his career. Doors open at 7pm for refreshments. The pavilion is now licensed so that wine can be served.
  • JOB Club continues in the Lechlade Library on Mondays from 10am-12pm. This is an opportunity to meet other people looking for work to get help with job search and application writing. There is no charge for those looking for work.
