  • CHEDWORTH has been suffering water shortages again this week with a relay of large tanker lorries ferrying water to a hydrant on Chedworth Airfield to top up the water mains while Thames Water try to find the leaks.
  • CHEDWORTH Silver Band has lost its longest serving member Mr Dennis Day. Dennis is believed to have joined the band in 1938, and played regularly until the end of the 2016 summer season. The Band will be playing the hymns and voluntaries for Mr Day’s funeral at St Andrew’s Church, Chedworth at 2pm on Friday, March 3.
  • THE Cotswolds Conservation Board is seeking photographs of the area from the period it was created some 50 years ago. There are many photographs available from much earlier periods but mid 1960s photographs seem far more rare. Please see Chedworth and Churn Valley Facebook page for more details.
  • THE Parish Council has received both compliments and complaints from residents following the overgrown hedge and verge cutting they arranged recently. The cutting has been noticeably more thorough than the County Council’s efforts and has greatly reduced the number of spiky overhanging bushes which have hampered walkers but has left some trees looking somewhat worse for wear.
  • THE Chedworth Society have their “New Year” drinks party with catering by Claire Booth Cooks at Whitegates from 6-9pm this Saturday, February 18. uTHE Mobile Library makes its monthly visit to the village hall car park this Tuesday, February 21 from 10.15-11.45am.
