  • TONIGHT, Kemble and Ewen Women’s Institute will be meeting in Kemble Village Hall at 7pm. Wine, nibbles, tea and coffee served. Learn all about the Cirencester celebrations Abbey 900. Visitors most welcome.
  • SUNDAY services are in Kemble at 9.30am – Family Holy Communion and in Poole Keynes – Family Service. At these services any contributions can be taken for the Cirencester Food Bank which will then be forwarded on to the charity. At 11am in Somerford Keynes – An All age service. Last chance to book your place on the prayer bracelet workshop being held at the Rectory in Coates on Saturday, February 25.   • THE coffee stop will be open in Kemble Village Hall from 10am until 11.30am on Monday. Delicious cakes/biscuits and a variety of hot drinks just for a £1 per person. This has proved to be a very popular community morning and thanks must be expressed to all the volunteer hosts especially Mandie Cram who keeps the rota going.
  • KEMBLE Village Hall rural cinema presents Tom Hanks in Sully on Monday at 7pm for 8pm when nibbles and drinks will be available, tickets are £3.50 each. An earlier start as it is a celebration of 10 years of the rural cinema in Kemble and the committee hopes you will join them to mark this occasion. The roots of the rural cinema lie in a parish council local plan survey when residents requested an alternative following the closure of the cinema in Cirencester. Special thanks to Michael Binks, organiser and chief projectionist, for keeping the reels rolling.
  • ALL welcome to Kemble Village Hall next Thursday when Katy Burke from the Fly2Help charity will be the guest speaker for the Kemble and District Royal British Legion women’s section meeting. Doors open just after 2pm for a 2.30pm start. Fly2help is a charity dedicated to raising the spirits of people, young and old, living in difficult personal situations and inspiring young people as they consider their future lives.   • THE Healthy Marketplace venue based in Cirencester Hospital is hosting a talk on ‘keeping active and healthy with a long term condition’ at 2.30pm on Tuesday, February 28. The room is on the first floor but there is lift access available. Patient participation groups of the local surgeries have been made known of this event and encourages those in surrounding villages to make note of this service as it provides information, support and gives signposting to other services.
