McCarthy and Stone seeks local charity to support in Chippenham

AWARD-winning retirement housebuilder, McCarthy and Stone, is on the hunt for a local charity to support in and around the Chippenham area, as its Westmead Lane development begins to take shape.

Construction is now well underway at the development, Waterford Place, and the developer is pledging to support an appropriate neighbourhood project or charity in Chippenham as part of its ongoing commitment to the local area.

Community groups and local charities are urged to get in touch as soon as possible by emailing requests to mccarthyandstone@mccann.com

Please mark your emails ‘Chippenham Community Appeal’ in the subject header.

McCarthy and Stone have an existing Assisted Living development in Chippenham, Bowles Court, also on Westmead Lane which has proven very popular with local retirees and retirees re-locating to the area.

Kim Caldwell, Regional Sales and Marketing Director at McCarthy and Stone, commented: “Supporting local organisations and individuals is of great importance to us at McCarthy and Stone. We want to foster a positive legacy in Chippenham and continue to support the community of which we are already a part of through the success of our Bowles Court development, which is why it’s such a pleasure for us to help a local organisation in this way.”

“Our Retirement Living developments are specifically designed for those looking to downsize from family homes and join a vibrant new community, full of like-minded people. We understand how important it is to make the most of your retirement years, and Waterford Place is the ideal development to do just that.”

Once complete, the development on Westmead Lane will comprise 18 one-bedroom, 19 two-bedroom, and two unique three-bedroom apartments, exclusively for those aged 60 and over.

The development has been carefully designed to offer homeowners the very best in independent living within a safe and secure environment, with the opportunity to benefit from companionship when desired, as well as privacy when needed.

The Westmead Lane site will see the extension of McCarthy and Stone’s existing and well-established presence in Chippenham already with their Assisted Living development, Bowles Court, located in close proximity to the site.

Providing specialist retirement apartments for local retirees in Chippenham, facilities at the development will include a club lounge, ideal for socialising with friends and neighbours, beautiful landscaped gardens and a convenient guest suite, ideal for when friends and family come to stay.

A dedicated House Manager will ensure the day-to-day running of the development; and a secure entrance system and 24-hour emergency call points will provide added peace of mind.
