  • ALL welcome tonight, Thursday, to Kemble Village Hall at 7pm when Kemble and Ewen Women’s Institute welcomes the guest speaker Jon Coward on Liquorice Heaven. As well as having some liquorice samples to try you may get a taste for becoming a member of the group.
  • THIS Sunday there will be a Benefice service in Coates Church at 10am. Rev Trevor Kemp needs your reservations for the Benefice weekend at Lee Abbey Devon in May by February 12 with deposits of £25 per person. Please ask him for a booking form. At 6pm this Sunday in Kemble Church, The Source – an informal worship style with songs – takes place, all ages welcome.
  • KEMBLE Village Hall 200 club renewals are due for the year and the treasurer Jean Whitehead welcomes subscriptions as soon as possible. To support this scheme, just £10 per annum, contact Jean on 770769. During the last year the hall had a massive mains water leak which posed many problems which the committee had to deal with the water supplier. Forward planning is necessary to get grant applications in as recent problems have meant that funds held had to be used to cover the work and costs. The committee thanks the people who organised specific events solely for the benefit of the hall funds, which includes the rural cinema. In February, Kemble rural cinema celebrates its 10th anniversary and will be opening the doors a little earlier on the night to serve fizz and nibbles before the showing of the film Sully.
