AN INCIDENT in Kemble Primary School where an elderly man offered sweets to children over the school wall is no longer being treated as suspicious by police.
The man, said to be known in the area, approached the school to explain the innocent situation after reading the Standard’s print report published on November 24.
The school and police have confirmed that no further action will be taken after the incident on Wednesday, November 16.
The school have also confirmed that security equipment was donated to the school by CIA Cirencester last week.
Headteacher Carol Dougill, said: "We are pleased that we have been able to resolve the situation and ask parents and grandparents not to talk to the children over the wall.
"This situation has enabled the school to re-evaluate health & safety procedures and practices.
"The school wishes to thank all parents and governors for their suggestions and support."
