A COTSWOLD hotel has picked up an award in the prestigious Conde Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence.

Manor House Hotel in High Street, Moreton-in-Marsh, has overcome tough competition to be named Best Luxury Value hotel.

The award was presented to general manager David Bryan at an awards ceremony held at the May Fair Hotel in London earlier this month.

Conde Nast Johansens offers a guide for independent travellers and annual accolades are awarded based on responses from online voting, guest feedback, and expert reports.

The Conde Nast judges were impressed with the hotel describing it as sensitively refurbished.

The judges also wrote: "The Manor House’s atmosphere is informal and friendly.

"Rooms and suites are the essence of chic country style with views to the picturesque High Street or the Manor’s pretty garden."

The four star hotel is housed in a historic 16th century building, and is a popular venue for weddings and conferences.

It was acquired by local couple, Michael and Pamela Horton, in August 2000 when it became part of the Cotswold Inns and Hotels collection, featuring nine inns and hotels across the Cotswolds.
