LECHLADE Festival organisers have received a record number of applications from bands and performers for the 2017 music festival.

Applications closed on November 30 with over 900 applications waiting to be considered by the festival team.

“We listen to every single application,” said festival director Jennie Rainsford. "The team meet regularly over four months to listen to and watch the submissions, we call it our ‘Listening Lounge’ sessions. We pride ourselves on giving every band and performer equal consideration. With such a high number of applications we really can select the very best for the line-up.”

The festival team endeavour to provide a much valued live music platform for bands to reach new audiences and unsigned bands are given priority consideration.

Next year’s headline bands are yet to be announced. Friday night at the festival sees a tribute band night with an exciting line up of bands playing tribute to ABBA, The Rolling Stones and ska music.

The Festival takes place over the bank holiday weekend from May 26-28 2017, with camping and glamping from Friday to Monday.

Early bird tickets are on sale until January 31 2017.
