IT IS VERY disturbing to see Dr Nehrig leaving the Romney House Surgery.

She had a very big pair of shoes to fill (Dr A Walsh) and I can only say she has more than filled them.

She was continuing where he, Dr Walsh, left from with 100 per cent care.

She will be a big loss to the town unless she could be persuaded to, may I say, ‘turn the other cheek’, as I always found with her that the only person she was interested in was the one she was tending to, not those waiting, their turn would come.

One thought that came to me is that is it not possible for another surgery to be opened in the town?

After all we are growing and with the amount of nursing and care homes being built in the town along with many other housing projects on the books surely another is needed.

Back up until the 1970s we had two surgeries and there was a very, very small population so why not open another then she, Dr Nerhig, could lead it.
