YOU can now apply to be a town councillor as Cirencester Town council looks to fill its vacancy.
The position of councillor for St Michael's ward had been vacant ever since Cllr Joe Harris resigned from the town council on September 1.
No election had been called, so the town council will now be seeking to fill the vacancy by co-option.
If you are interested in the position, contact the Local Information Centre at Bingham House, 1 Dyer Street for an information pack and information from the National Association of Local Councils on suitability and eligibility.
Alternatively, you can download the information from www.cirencester.gov.uk.
All applicants will have the opportunity to give a five-minute talk at the town council meeting on Tuesday, November 8 and will be asked to provide a 500-word statement on their suitability and eligibility to be a town councillor.
A decision will be taken by the council on who to appoint on the same evening.
To apply, send an expression of interest and 500-word statement confirming suitability and eligibility to Cirencester Town Council (details below) no later than 4.30pm on Monday, November 7.
