HOUSEBUILDER Redrow pleaded guilty to two counts of failing to comply with a Breach of Condition Notice (BCN) on Monday, October 10 at Cheltenham Magistrates Court.

The charges were issued after Redrow failed to comply with planning requirements for permitted operating times at the Redrow Mallards development in South Cerney, just off Broadway Lane.

The housebuilder was fined £750 on count one, and was told to pay £75 victim surcharge and £500 of costs.

On count two, they were fined another £750. The third count was withdrawn.

According to Section 36 of the Planning Approval for the South Cerney development, the hours of working on the site is restricted to 8am to 6pm on Mondays to Fridays, and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.

No work is permitted to take place on Sundays and public holidays.

Alan Dickinson, South Cerney resident, commented: "These requirements are to afford residents some respite from the noise, dirt and disturbance at all hours of the day.

"They are a shining example of inconsiderate and arrogant builders."
