A 40-year-old Cirencester man, who is said to be an officer of the Supreme Court of Ireland, was remanded in custody by a Gloucester Crown Court judge on Friday to await trial on fifteen fraud and theft charges.

Michael Cremin, of Buncombe Way, Preston, Cirencester, was told by Judge Jamie Tabor QC that his trial, expected to last eight to nine days, will begin on February 14, next year.

Cremin pleaded not guilty to fraud in September 2013 by claiming to have an interest in a house in High street, Eton.

He also denied theft of a Toyota Hi-Lux on October, 13, 2014 from Listers Toyota.

Cremin further pleaded not guilty to fraud against VW Financial Services between September and December 2014 and theft of a VW Passat.

He denied another fraud in September and October 2014 by falsely claiming that bank statements from Castle Roy LLP were genuine.

He also pleaded not guilty to theft of a Lexus car on September 1, 2014, a further fraud against VW Financial Services between February and March 2015, theft of a VW Touareg in May 2015, another fraud against VW Financial Services between February and April 2015 and theft of another Touareg on July 20, 2015.

A further fraud charge which he denied was of making a false representation to Motor Novo Finance that he was Peter Waring.

He pleaded not guilty to theft of a VW Scirocco between March and July this year, fraud by representing to an estate agent that wage slips from Metro Inns were genuine on January 10, 2014, fraud by representing to an estate agent on November 14, 2015 that he was Michael Cumming and finally fraud in February and March 2015 by falsely representing to Sandra Birch that money he received from her would be used to buy land.

His barrister, William Wilder, said Cremin also faces other charges which are due to be tried at Southwark Crown Court. Judge Jamie Tabor QC said it would be good if they could all be brought together in one case.

Mr Wilder said Cremin is a legal adviser and officer of the Irish Supreme Court but not a qualified lawyer.

He applied for bail pending trial but the judge refused and remanded Cremin in custody till February 14.
