A FARRIER from Malmesbury is flying all the way to Las Vegas to take part in one of the most gruelling obstacle courses in the world.

Martin Price, 40, will be tackling the world famous Tough Mudder course in America next month to raise funds for the charity that supported his friend in her time of need.

Judith Greenman, was diagnosed with a left frontal lobe brain tumour last year.

After her diagnosis doctors instructed her to wait to see if the tumour grew.

The Brainstrust, a tumour support charity, paid for Judith to get a second opinion privately, which meant she got put back into the NHS system for the necessary operation.

She has now made a full recovery, but is being checked up on regularly.

Speaking about the charity, Martin said: “Brainstrust supported Judith completely, they were fantastic with her.

“We are now all forever in Brainstrust’s debt and I wish to raise as much money for them as I can.”

To support the charity, Martin will be taking on the gruelling 12-mile Tough Mudder course in the Las Vegas desert, which involves clawing through mud, swinging on monkey bars and getting electrocuted.

Tough Mudder courses are renown around the world for their difficulty and Cirencester is home to the UK’s South West course.

Having completed three Tough Mudders in the past, Martin knows what to expect.

“I’ve done quite a bit of training with a personal trainer,” he said.

“I’ve been doing a lot of upper body work.

“The heat in Las Vegas will be interesting but I’m used to the heat, working outside, so it should be fine.”
