MEMBERS of the Royal Air Force (RAF) will be setting off from Lechlade to attempt to set a new world record by being the fastest team to travel the length of the navigable Thames by pedalo.

Four RAF members will be setting off on Monday, September 26, at 8am to travel 123 miles down the river.

The team are hoping to complete their journey within six days. They will also be raising money for the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund (RAFBF).

To achieve the record, they will have to adhere to guidelines set out by the Guiness World Records and will have to pedalo for over 12 hours each day.

They will hopefully finish at Teddington lock on the afternoon of October 1 where they will be hosting te finishing party.
