  • REFUSE collections in Chedworth change this week from Thursdays to Fridays so if you put your refuse out this morning it won’t be collected until tomorrow.
  • THE HILL and Valley churches have their Harvest Festival at St Andrew’s church Chedworth this Sunday, September 25. Chedworth Silver Band will provide the music during the service which commences at 10.30am.
  • CHEDWORTH pre-school have a jumble sale at Chedworth village hall this Saturday, September 24, from 2-4pm.
  • NOMINATIONS for the vacancy on Chedworth parish council close at noon tomorrow Friday, September 23. If only one person is nominated they will automatically be elected to the council, if there are two or more nominations then an election will be held on Thursday, October 20, and if no one is nominated CDC have to repeat the process. Full details can be obtained from CDC Elections department. 
  • THE parish council has invited Thames Water to send representatives to a public meeting to address concerns over continuing water supply failures in the village. The council is looking for a date in October and will then publicise the date and venue.
  • CHEDWORTH parish council is asking residents to support councillor Paul Hodgkinson’s petition for urgent action to be taken to resolve the ‘Missing Link’ problems on the roads around the Air Balloon and Nettleton Bottom which cause delays to many residents as well as accidents and injuries due to the excess traffic using the inadequate roads.

  • BBC3 is filming across Northleach this week at a variety of locations. The team will be in the town for another two weeks filming a cutting edge comedy called This Country of Ours.
  • THERE will be roadworks on the A40 between October 3-5. The road section affected is the A40 from the Northleach roundabout towards the county boundary near Burford, a stretch of 11.5 kilometres. The work is to allow essential carriageway signing and marking works by Amey, on behalf of Gloucestershire County Council. There will be a 10mph speed limit and traffic will be controlled by lights. The lights will be in situ 24 hours a day but the work will take place during the day. Please allow plenty of time for your journey or avoid the area. 
  • SUPPORT group P3 will be at the Westwoods centre on Monday, September 12, and thereafter weekly until further notice from 9.30-11.30am. The drop-in services offer free advice and support on housing issues, debt advice, maximising benefits, budgeting money, employment, training and guidance to maintain an independent life.
