A PLANNING application to construct a single storey extension to a Cirencester car company’s premises has been 'deferred'.

Cotswold District Council’s (CDC) planning committee was due to make a decision on the application on September 14, submitted by The Colt Car Company Ltd, for the erection of a single storey extension to its lobby.

Speaking at the CDC planning meeting, Cllr Stephen Hirst, committee chairman, said: “Item number six has been withdrawn, that’s the Colt Car Company in Cirencester, that application has been withdrawn.”

He said it had been ‘deferred to a later date’.

According to the agenda notes, Cllr Joe Harris, CDC ward member, had referred the application to committee so that “members may consider the impact of the development upon the neighbouring streets and in the interest of transparency, given the recent planning history of the site”.

An application to erect external racking on the site, met with protests from residents, was refused in November, while an altered application was then rejected in March.

Case officer Scott Britnell had recommended members permit the application ‘subject to the satisfactory resolution of the ecological matter and no objection from the environment agency’.
