NEW community bus services in Cirencester, Tetbury, Lechlade and Fairford will be helping those affected by changes to rural bus services to access essential services.

Community Connexions, a charity based in Cheltenham providing transport for the elderly and disabled, will be introducing new services in the Cotswolds and Stroud from August 16. 

There will be bus services on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays taking people between Tetbury and Cirencester.

The services will cover: Long Newton, Doughton, Shipton Moyne, Avening, Westonbirt, Ashley, Culkerton, Tetbury Upton, Tetbury, Cherington, Rodmarton, Coates, Daglingworth, Kemble, Bagendon, Preston, Siddington, Ewen, Harnhill, Perrott’s Brook, Stratton, Baunton, Cirencester, South Cerney, Driffield, Ampney Crucis, Ampney St Mary, Ampney St Peter, Poulton, Meysey Hampton, Quenington, Fairford, Coln St Aldwyns, Hatherop, Sunhill, Whelford, Kempsford and Lechlade.

Concessionary bus passes will be valid on new, door-to-door pre-bookable shopper services.

Paul Riddick, chief executive officer of Community Connexions, said: "We are delighted that we are able to increase our service provision to help some of the most rurally isolated communities."
