  • THE consultation period on the submission draft of Cotswold District Local Plan 2011-2031 finishes on Monday, August 8. If you wish to view the document and comment on it before that date, you can do so via cotswold.gov.uk. Hard copies can be viewed at local libraries or at the CDC offices in Trinity Road, Cirencester.
  • KEMPSFORD Cricket Club next fixture is a home match against South Hill on Sunday, July 31 with a 2.30pm start.

  • MINI Praise at St Mary’s Church, Fairford is on Thursday, August 4 at 1.45pm for pre-schoolers and their carers. A lovely little free session with stories, songs, crafts, and snacks. 
  • AS PART of the Big Friendly Read programme of events at Fairford Library, there will be story time and songs on Thursday, August 4, 10am-10.30am for ages 4+. Also on the same day between 11.15am and 11.45am there will be Roald Dahl story time. Both of these events are free drop-in events i.e. no charge and no need to book. For more information, call Fairford Library on 01285 712599.
  • FAIRFORD Library now has a resident computer buddy on Monday and Wednesday mornings. Please go in and make use of him. The Library also has its own tablet for demo usage as well as instant WiFi. The Library computers need to be used fully, so any group or club is welcome to use them.

  • THE Trout Inn have a busy summer lined up. Riverfolk Acoustic will meet in the Creel Bar at 8pm. Entry is £2 and all players and listeners are welcome. Contact moira@take2-music.co.uk for more information. The first event in August is on Sunday 7 when the world famous Ukey Dukes Big Band from Ashton Keynes will be performing at 3.30pm.
  • THE town council have produced a questionnaire regarding the design of the community hall rebuild. This can be completed on line by going to the lechladeonthames.co.uk website and follow the links on the home page to community hall consultation. The first major fundraiser for the hall is the dog show and it will take place this Sunday, July 31. It will run from 2-5pm on the playing fields. Entry is £1 for adults with children free. There will be classes for the most handsome dog, the dog most like its owner, agility and fastest recall. There will be a doggy photography studio, bouncy castle for children, lucky dip and face painting. Local Crufts dog handler champion and British team coach, Anthony Clark will be there to judge.
  • THE Fairford and Lechlade business club will be holding its monthly meeting this Thursday at the Swan in Lechlade. It will be another of the successful speed networking events. Bookings for this are now closed but the club always welcomes new members and you can find out more on its website at flbc.org.uk or contact Chris Roberts on 01285 712150 or admin@flbc.org.uk.
