MORETON Show will be showing people that 'the countryside is the new rock n roll'.

The show is creating a bigger Rural Attractions area this year to showcase all that is the best about rural Britain.

Show secretary, Sarah Taylor said: "The countryside and rural life is the new rock ‘n’ roll, just like stand-up comedy was in the 1990s.

"We had lots of feedback after last year’s show and we are responding to it.

"More and more people tune in each week to shows like Countryfile and so we’ve decided to enhance our displays of traditional rural crafts and occupations.

"People may have seen some of these things on TV or heard about them on the radio but at Moreton Show, people can get up close to the action and experience some of the best rural crafts people in Britain."

At this year's show, there will be a display by falconer Chris Miller who will demonstrate the art of hunting with hawks and show his golden eagle.

Gundogs will be showcased when Ricky Maloney and his Ribblesdale Labradors display their field skills and Ricky will also talk about dog and puppy obedience.

Dogs will also feature in the ever popular Terrier Racing and Service Dogs UK will show how animals can help with post traumatic stress.

Other attractions include the chance to have a go at air rifle shooting and archery, courtesy of the Honesberie Shooting School, from Southam, Warwickshire and there will be information about buying the best sports guns from traditional gunsmiths, RJ Blackwell from Charlbury, Oxfordshire.

If you like tractors, there’s everything from high end modern machines to cute vintage tractors and this year children will get the chance to meet Tractor Ted.

In the Countryside & Heritage area, Moreton Show will also include a Q&A stage with the National Farmers’ Union and Moreton Young Farmers are working with the Farm Safety Foundation.

Ferrets 2000 will be there too, with advice on keeping, showing and racing ferrets, while Fosseway Game, a family-run business in the heart of the Cotswolds, will have their pheasants, partridges, guinea fowl, turkeys, ducks and geese.

Sarah Taylor said: "We have everything, from golden eagles to dogs, hedgehogs and ferrets.

"We are really proud to have been able to increase our rural and countryside displays.

"On one day in September, visitors will be able to see so many traditions and skills that are becoming more and more interesting to people who no longer live and work in the countryside."

The Moreton Show is only weeks away and there are massive savings on tickets bought ahead of September 3.
