I HAVE become more and more appalled and amazed by the lack of any work being done by Gloucestershire County Council (GCC) to the appalling state of the main roads in the county.

The potholes have got worse to such a degree that it can only be a matter of time before someone is killed when their car hits a pothole and then veers off into the path of an oncoming lorry.

I have seen on the Fosseway a few major holes being filled since April – when every pothole has had a white line sprayed around it.

This must have been done at least a month ago so now the white lines are fading.

What was the purpose of spraying a white line around a pothole?

Would it not be more useful and cost-effective to employ a firm to repair the potholes rather than just highlighting them with a white line?
As a ratepayer within the county, I continue to be staggered by the lack of any real action on behalf of GCC.
