Cirencester

  • LAND and Sea exhibition at the Corinium Museum by freelance artist Sarah Elizabeth Butler. Her artistic practice lies somewhere between drawing and painting and explores various colourful, highly textural and atmospheric mixed-media techniques. Flitting between the idyllic Cornish coast and beautiful countryside of Somerset, this collection of work offers an eclectic mix of expressive drawings and paintings. With this body of work, Sarah aims to celebrate the richness of colour, depth and the tiniest of details that can be found in the world around us. Free admission, all items for sale.

  • STRATTON village hall cinema club will be showing The Dressmaker starring Kate Winslet and Liam Hemsworth. The film is a comedy-drama about a talented misfit who returns to rural Australia after working as a dressmaker in exclusive Parisian fashion houses to right the wrongs of the past.   • SOROPTIMIST International Cirencester & District are hosting a vintage garden party Century House, Silver Street from 2.30-5pm. There will be stalls selling plants, books, games, bric-a-brac and an auction of handbags. Oaksey

  • OAKSEY Village fete takes place with cake, bottle, bric-a-brac, plant and produce stalls, plus a tombola and more.

Poole Keynes

  • ALL are welcome to Poole Keynes summer fete in the field adjoining the village hall. From 12.30-4pm there will be burgers/cream teas, Pimms, WI cakes, plant and book stall, face painting, falconry display, classic cars, bouncy castle, splat the rat, skittles and an auction. Tetbury

  • GUILD of town criers will hold the their Cotswold championship starting with a procession of 17 town criers in complimentary dress at 10.30am from the Dolphins Hall, New Church Street and marching at Long Street. They will be led by the Gloucester Scouts’ marching band to the marketplace and the first heat of the competition will commence at 11am. The afternoon’s second heat is at the marketplace at 2 pm.

Birdlip

Felt making, hand and machine embroidery, weaving, dying, printing and painting on fabric, work in two and three dimensions are all techniques used by the members.
