RESIDENTS in Wiltshire will be able to keep up to date with the work of the county’s police thanks to a new campaign.

Wiltshire Police and the police and crime commissioner (PCC) Angus Macpherson are launching their ‘#DidYouKnow Campaign’ on social media this week.

It aims to raise awareness of the importance of high standard procedures for recording crimes.

The campaign will feature regular social media posts detailing the work of Wiltshire Police and the PCC and explaining why high standards of crime reporting make a difference.

The campaign comes ahead of the Office for National Statistics publishing their next crime statistics on July 20, the final day of the #DidYouKnow campaign.

PCC Angus Macpherson explained how high standards of crime recording enable police to better serve victims and witnesses. He said: “The better the crime recording, the more accurate the picture is of what is happening across the Force area and that helps us improve the service we deliver.”
