CELEBRATE those who light up your life by holding a Summer Lights get-together using decorative lights: fairy-lights, candles or lanterns.

The Summer Lights fundraiser is being hosted by npower in support of Macmillan Cancer Support, its charitable partner of 12 years.

The idea of the nationwide fundraising event is for people to invite family and friends over for nibbles and drinks, or dinner, in exchange for a donation to Macmillan Cancer Support.

All money raised will help ensure that no one faces cancer alone.

Five style influences will be designing a beautiful lighting look that anyone can easily recreate at home, alongside tips on how to get the look.

Influencers that are working with npower to support the campaign include luxury party planner Mark Niemierko, lifestyle and parenting blogger Emily Leary, beauty and lifestyle blogger Paula Holmes, interiors blogger Geraldine Tan, and lifestyle blogger 'Poppy Loves'.

A social media competition is encouraging people to share a photo on social media, tagging @npowerhq, of the person who is the inspiration for their celebration.

Winners will receive a Summer Lights celebration event pack, which includes a selection of lights to add a touch of sparkle to their get-together.

For every tweet that uses #summerlights, npower will donate £5 to Macmillan, up to a total of £50,000.

Clare McDougall of npower said, “We’re thrilled to be working with our longstanding charitable partner Macmillan, for such an important cause.
