  • ALL residents are invited to the annual meeting of Kemble Village Hall on Friday, May 6 at 7pm, prior to the annual public parish council meeting. Hear all about what is happening and has happened with the hall management and plans for the future first hand and stay on to hear about the work that the Parish Councillors carry out on our behalf throughout the year. Be updated with county and district council matters too as Tony Berry and Shaun Parsons will be attending. Villagers can pick up an annual report of the local council from the village stores if a home delivery copy doesn’t arrive. 
  • TOMORROW Poole Keynes Friday club will be presenting The Lady in the Van starring Maggie Smith. Doors open at 7.30pm for refreshments of wine, beer and soft drinks as well as hot drinks and snacks with the film commencing at 8pm. Members can bring a guest who will be charged £3.50p. Seating is limited so please book with Judith 01285 770301. This is the last film for the season, the club will resume on the Friday, September 2 when subscriptions will be due. 
  • LAST minute tickets may be available for the women's breakfast being held on Saturday in Kemble Village Hall at 8.30am with guest speaker Amy Boucher Pye. Contact Elaine Kemp on 01285 770550. Martin’s penultimate quiz takes place on Saturday evening in the hall and all tables have been booked.
  • SUNDAY services are at 9.30am with a family service in Kemble when you can bring along anything for the Cirencester food bank which Pat Ferris kindly collects and delivers onto. Holy Communion takes place at 9.30am in Poole Keynes. Somerford Keynes will hold Holy Communion at 11am. Rev David Austin has been appointed as the House for Duty priest for Thameshead Benefice. David and his wife Angie will be moving into Kemble vicarage in due course. Prayers take place in Kemble church on Tuesday mornings at 8.30am.
  • RESULT of the Kemble Village Hall 200 club draw held at the rural cinema for April was Mr and Mrs P. Burns with number 57. 
  • ANY man who is free is welcome to join Jonathan Pemberton and David Austin at The Tavern Kemble for drinks/supper on Monday evenings once a month, especially if you get off the 18.47 train from London and you are ready for a pint. This Monday they will be there. 
  • THE mobile library will be stationed outside Kemble Village Hall on Tuesday morning normal times and on Wednesday it will be in Somerford Keynes parked at the end of Mill Lane for a couple of hours from around 10.20am.

  • WILL Jago on 01285 770995 is raising money for his youth trip as part of the Gloucester Diocese to Bangalore and Dornakal in India for three weeks in July and August. While they are there they will be working with children and young people in orphanages, day centres and schools. If you have any jobs that Will could do in order to help fund his trip please contact him.
