  • RAW Talent at New Brewery Arts continues its exhibition that celebrates the work of students who attended courses and workshops over the last year and offers them an opportunity for professional development by presenting the wealth of ability cultivated during their classes. Many pieces will be available for sale. Runs until Sunday, May 8 at new brewery arts, brewery court. Admission is free, for further details visit newbrewryarts.org.uk.

Malvern

  • RHS Malvern Spring Festival. Inspirational show gardens, shopping galore, gardening experts and television personalities including Mary Berry, Alan Titchmarsh and Mr Bloom await visitors at the 2016 RHS Malvern Spring Festival.  From 9am. Admission adult tickets start from £17 in advance, while under 16s are free of charge. Daglingworth

  • RURAL Cinema presents Bridge of Spies (12A) at the village hall. Bar opens at 7pm with the film commencing at 7.30pm. Admission is £4 on the door.

Cirencester

  • CIRENCESTER Choral Society present an evening of classical music from 7.30pm at Cirencester Parish Church. Carleton Etherington conducts the concert which features music from Chilcott and Elgar. Tickets from £12.50 from Cirencester visitor information centre. For more information drop in or call 01285 654180.
  • ENJOY live music at The Kings Head Hotel Corn Hall in Cirencester with The Phoenix Festival for a music fundraising event.  Headliners including locally celebrated Phoenix All Stars and high-energy Cardiff-based tribute band Atomic Blonde who will be singing well-loved classics from across the 70s. From 7.30-11.30pm. Admission cost £8 in advance or £10 on the door. 
  • PATERNOSTER School will be holding their Spring Fair in Watermoor Road from 2pm-5pm. There will be music, games, craft stalls, a bouncy castle, teas, cakes and a drum workshop. All welcome, admission is 50p, children free.

Cheltenham 

  • INTO the Breach at the Everyman Studio Theatre. A one-man play starring actor Mark Carey as George Crocker, who is keen to liven up his dull life and decides to join the village drama club. What happens then turns his world upside down. 2pm and 7.45pm. Stonehouse

  • OUT of the Art Room at Wycliffe School is taking place over this and next weekend. Open from 11am until 4pm with free entry, the exhibition showcases the talent of some returning students.

Purton

  • THERE will be a joint concert in aid of Prospect Hospice & Purton Age Concern by Chedworth Silver Band & Purton Peartree Pealers handbell ringers in Purton village hall from 7.30pm, entrance £6.

Gloucester

  • ENJOY a fun-filled afternoon with all the family, including four-legged friends, when Paws on Patrol returns to Gloucester Park. The ever-popular event will feature an array of entertainment, including police dog demonstrations, an agility display, a novelty dog show, and more.  From 12-5pm. Admission free.

Down Ampney

  • GARDENING Club's annual plant sale from 10.30-11.30am. Come along and buy locally grown plants that you know will grow in local conditions.

Fairford

  • FRIENDS of Farmor’s School Quiz Night at 7.30pm in the Main Hall.  Licensed bar and fun all night raising funds for the school. £5 per person. Teams of 6 max.

  • A CAR boot sale takes place at the National Star Grounds, GL53 9QU from 9am-1pm.

Cirencester

  • THERE will be a town walk around historic Cirencester every Sunday and Bank Holiday until September. Meet at the Church porch in the Market Place at 3pm, lasts 70 minutes, £2 adults/concessions free. Suitable for children and disabled.

Tetbury

Malmesbury

  • THE Harmonettes star in a performance of Dorothy’s War. The musical is an exciting play packed full of songs from the First World War era, all sung live by the Harmonettes. The play is based on one woman’s extraordinary life during WWI the First World War and tells the true story of journalist and adventurer Dorothy Lawrence’s experiences of the Great War. Performance begins at 7.30pm at Malmesbury Town Hall. Tickets from £12, children £8, for more information visit poundarts.org.uk or call 01249 701628.

Yanworth

  • THE Gardens at Stowell Park are open with a plant sale from 2-5pm on Sunday, May 8. £6 (under 12s free). Proceeds to NGS and Yanworth and Stowell churches. 

Gloucester 

  • GLOUCESTER Docks will play host to adrenaline-fuelled annual event, the Dragon Boat Regatta, which will see 30 teams battle it out in decorative 40-foot dragon boats. The Dragon Boat Regatta promises a rowing race like no other, with team members donning colourful fancy dress as they race across the water – with plenty of prizes up for grabs. From 10am to 6pm. Admission: Free of charge for spectators.

Kempsford

  • BEATING the Bounds Walk around Kempsford, Dudgrove, Whelford and Dunfield starting 10.30am at the Lych gate to Kempsford Church. There will be three stops for refreshment on the way and a tractor and trailer will be available after the first stop for those who may need it. Please ensure that you wear suitable clothing and footwear for walking in the countryside.

Cheltenham

  • DIRECT from the West End, the highly acclaimed play The Father, will take to the stage at the Everyman Theatre. Starring Kenneth Cranham, the play tells the story of an 80-year-old man who cannot find his watch and is starting to wonder if he’s losing control. Praised as ‘a revelation, as sharp and surprising a play as you’ll see all year’, and ‘an unqualified triumph’, The Father has dazzled audiences and critics alike.
