A TALENTED craftsman has created a beautiful new sign for Cirencester Open Air Swimming Pool ahead of its reopening this summer.
Gabriel Hummerstone was asked to craft the sign by a local architect who won a competition to design the swimming pool's new sign earlier this year.
It took three days for Gabriel to create the masterpiece.
When asked about the process, he said: “It’s all about concentration.
“You need plenty of breaks, otherwise one mistake could ruin the whole job.”
Gabriel explained that the sign's new look was inspired by the lettering that is found in the Corinium museum and is a tribute to the town's Roman heritage.
He said “I’ve always been interested in the history of lettering.
“To get this job was a real score for me. I thought it was a great opportunity to do a job in such a prosperous part of the country.”
