  • THIS Sunday, May 1, there is a Sung Evensong by Queen's College Choir, Oxford, at St. Andrew's Church, Chedworth, at 4.30pm. 
  • CHEDWORTH WI yarn-bombed the village hall last week in celebration of the Queen's 90th birthday, including wrapping a bicycle in yarn against the fence. It looked rather soggy after the rains but dried out again and is due to remain until this Saturday, April 30.
  • GUITING Music Festival's second outreach concert takes place tomorrow evening on Friday, April 29 and features the Behn String Quartet, Katie Oswin and Alicia Berendse – Violin, Lydia Abell – Viola, Ghislaine McMullin – Violoncello. Advance tickets for this concert are £15 with under-19s free, call 03336 663366 or visit guitingfestival.org/ticket_shop.htm. Tickets may also be available on the door.
  • CHEDWORTH Silver Band played for the Queen's 90th Birthday celebration at Yanworth last Thursday and for Guiting Music Festival's first outreach concert last Saturday where they played to a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic audience. 
  • CHEDWORTH Silver Band's next concert is at Purton village hall with Pear Tree Peallers on Saturday, May 7, at 7.30pm. Advance tickets (£6 and to include a glass of wine) from Brian 01793 771667, or pay at the door. The concert is sponsored by Hills of Swindon and proceeds go to Purton Age Concern and the Prospect Hospice.
  • MUCH of Chedworth has now been connected to Gigaclear Fibre Broadband network and some residents who have not yet been connected sit on the benches outside the village hall and take advantage of the 50mbs speeds available. Gigaclear have a demonstration day at the village hall on Saturday, May 7.
