LOCAL authority-owned environmental services company Ubico Ltd Cleaned for the Queen.
The company, owned by various local councils in the South West region, delivers a range of services.
For Cotswolds District Council, they are responsible for household waste and recycling collections, street cleaning, grounds and cemetary maintenance, fleet management and winter management (gritting).
Volunteers from Ubico went to Racecourse Lane and Clarks Lane in Siddington today, April 8, to take part in Keep Britain Tidy’s national Clean for the Queen campaign.
The team, who provides environmental services in the Cotswolds, gave up some of their time as part of an on-going commitment to support the local community.
They collected 24 bags of waste and a number of larger items throughout the morning.
The waste collected included general litter such as food wrappers, drinks cans, as well as some unusual objects like car mats, pillows, a broken bed and a pressure washer.
John Hays, commercial director of Ubico Ltd said: “We really enjoy getting out of the office for a few hours to help improve the cleanliness of the local area. The Cotswolds is a beautiful area and we want to help keep it that way.
“So many people have already given up their time to litter pick as part of the Clean for the Queen campaign, we wanted to do our bit too.
“This area is well used by local walkers, cyclists and horse riders, so we hope they will continue to enjoy the area now it has had a spring clean.”
