THE steel skeleton of a new church has begun to sprout in Cirencester.

Just a few months ago the site on Chesterton Lane was flat after the ageing social club which used to dwell there was knocked down.

But now Cirencester Baptist Church’s new building is starting to take shape as the team from EG Carter erect its giant steel frame.

Church leaders hope the work will be done by the end of the year.

When finished it will be the become the largest venue in the town, capable of seating 500 people.
