A ROAD in Cirencester has unexpectedly flooded this morning.
Residents of Melmore Gardens in Siddington have been left struggling to leave their homes, with the middle of the street several inches deep in water.
“It’s disgusting. It looks like a burst sewage pipe,” said a resident who did not want to be named. “That’s not something you expect to see when you look out of your window.
“I’m worried about putting my car through it.”
The water spreads across the street outside houses 7-24.
A Thames Water (TW) spokesman said: “We’re aware of the flooding at Melmore Gardens and have a team of engineers on their way to check for blockages in the drains as quickly as possible.”
A TW worker arrived at around 1.25pm but did not give any further information in terms of the cause of the flood.
