A GROUP of budding linguists at Bibury Primary drew on their creative talents to submit illustrated story ideas for a language competition.
The 21 pupils collaborated with others across the country on the unique bedtime story, that starts in English and ends in another language.
“It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to use the French they had been learning in the classroom," said Mrs Campbell, who used the competition as a classroom activity, with pupils suggesting what should happen next, with ideas including visiting a pet shop.
The initiative for the book came from university graduate Alex Somervell and Jonny Pryn who run a small business, ‘One Third Stories’.
Alex said: “What we really want to do is inspire children to love languages and involve them in making this happen”
“Bibury CE Primary has produced some awesome entries and now we would love more children in the local area to become “collaborators”, added Jonny. “We want to create a book for children, by children which we think will make something really engaging for little linguist.
