AFTER years of negotiations broke down, Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt made the controversial decision to impose unpopular contracts on junior doctors.
The move was brought on by frustrated negotiations that led to multiple strikes by the medical professionals.
Following the decision, doctors threatened more strike action and even talked about leaving the country to work elsewhere.
Speaking in the House of Commons, Jeremy Hunt said: “I believe that the new contract we are introducing is one that, in time, can command the confidence of both the workforce and their employers."
