  • BECAUSE the Village Hall is so regularly booked at weekends for children’s birthday parties it has not been possible to show many of the Six Nations Rugby matches this year but we are showing the Wales vs France match on Friday, February 26 with doors open at 7.30pm for KO at 8.05pm.

There could be some beer available courtesy of the Curry Club, but feel free to bring your own drinks and nibbles.

All welcome – no entrance charge but donations towards the upkeep of the Hall most welcomed.

  • THE big screen at the Hall will also be used at the Village Hall Club on Friday, February 19 for the regular entertainment.

New members are always welcome to come along and see what we have on offer.

Doors open at 7 for a 7.30pm start. Annual membership fee still only £10 per member. Call me for more details.

  • MUSIC lovers will need to be at All Hallow church on Saturday, March 12 when Cantores will be performing “a feast of music” ranging from Wilby to Whitacre, spanning more than five centuries.

The group will be conducted by John Holloway with David Whitehead playing the organ.

Tickets £12 or £10 concessions if bought in advance from TIC Cirencester, from the Shop at Cirencester Parish Church or via cantores.net. £15 if purchased at the door on the evening.

  • THE production team of a new TV show is seeking couples from this area to take part in Channel 4’s Couples Come Dine with Me which will be filmed in late March.

They are wanting couples aged over 18 to compete for a prize of £1,000 by cooking and hosting dinner parties for three other couples from the Gloucestershire area.

Contact carys.evens@itv.com if you feel you are the couple that can win.

  • THE Village Directory has been delivered to every household in our parish and contains loads of helpful information.

Please keep this rather than recycling it.

The directory is financed by Parish Council and printed and distributed by the Cerney News team.

  • THE unseasonable weather has brought traditional spring flowers into bloom many weeks earlier than usual which means that it will be difficult to have blooms available for the South Cerney Spring Flower Show being held in the Village Hall on Saturday, March 12.

However, there are several other categories in the show such as cookery and photography which should attract a good number of entries.

Do have a go this year.

Schedules are available for collection from the post office in Clarks Hay.
